Some additional charges may apply. Q: Where is your town located?A: We are located just north of Cadillac and South of Petoskey, in beautiful Northern Michigan. Please refer to our Driving Directions section for more details on finding your way to Traverse City. Q: What time is check-out?A: Check-out time is 10am. Q: What is your cancellation policy?A: If you need to cancel your reservations more than 90 days prior to your arrival, you will receive a full refund. If the cancellation is within 45-90 days of your booking, half of the rent is refunded. There is no refund on bookings within less than 45 days. Thank you for your interest! Questions to Ask Before Renting a Michigan Vacation Home1. Is the company established and reputable?Look for a Michigan vacation rental home company that has been around for at least a few years, is a member of the local chamber of commerce and the Better Business Bureau. How do I reserve the vacation rental?Don’t make the mistake of assuming that because you called interested in a specific vacation rental home that someone else can’t snatch the property up. Don’t be disappointed; find out exactly what is required to reserve the home for your next Michigan vacation. At Traverse Area Vacation Rentals you can easily create a reservation online or over the phone, a 33% deposit is required at the time the reservation is made. It’s a good idea to keep a record of your reservation number in the event that there is ever confusion regarding your reservation. 3. What is the cancellation policy?Unfortunately there may be a need to cancel your upcoming vacation so it’s important to fully understand your agreement with the vacation home rental agency. Our policy allows for a full refund of the deposit if the cancelation is at least 90 days prior to the date of the reservation and a 50% refund of your deposit if the cancelation is 45-90 days prior to the reservation date. 4. Are there additional fees?Some Michigan vacation rental companies have additional fees that may go unnoticed until it’s time to pay your final bill. They may include, cleaning fees, security deposit, pool or gym fees, pet fees, parking fees and Internet connection fees. At Traverse Area Vacation Rentals we try to keep these additional fees at a minimum. Of course we have to include taxes just like everyone else, and yes if you would like to bring your dog along we have rental homes that can accommodate you but there may be an additional fee to take into consideration the extra cleanup. We also require a credit card number for a security deposit equal to the amount of the rental, but unless there’s damage to the property no charges are placed on the card. What happens if something breaks on a Saturday?On a rare occasion there may be a complication with your rental. What do you do if the air conditioning stops working? Our vacation rental homes are routinely inspected prior to each stay so maintenance concerns are rare but if you do encounter a problem simply call 231-421-5525 and the issue will be addressed promptly. 6. What forms of payment are accepted?Many Michigan vacation rental agencies will only accept payment by credit card. At Traverse Area Vacation Rental we strive to make payments as simple as possible. One way we accomplish this is by accepting credit cards, personal and business checks, money orders and cashiers checks.
