This spacious, well-maintained vacation home has everything you need for a carefree, peaceful retreat or family getaway! It is conveniently located 15 minutes from Traverse City on Duck Lake Peninsula - a lovely wooded community that offers easy access to Traverse City's many attractions, plus the peace and tranquility of an island-like setting surrounded by nature and lake views. No crowds, traffic, or city lights! Duck Lake is a beautiful 1900-acre lake with a sandy bottom, excellent for fishing and all kinds of water sports. A lake access area is located across the street from the cottage for swimming and lakeside picnics. A private boat launch is located about 1/2 mile from the cottage. Quiet, shady streets are ideal for runners, cyclists, or a simple leisurely stroll.
The Peninsula is well maintained by a wonderful neighborhood association that maintains 5 lake accesses, the boat launch, and our very own central park – a large wooded recreation area in the center of the neighborhood, with a playground, basketball court, volleyball, tennis court, and covered/lighted pavilion. For beach enthusiasts, Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore are only 28 miles away.
Cozy A-Frame style cottage with a rustic and impeccably clean interior. The main floor has a galley kitchen (with a regular coffee pot) and everything you need to prepare meals for you and your family and opens up into the dining area, with a table and chairs to seat 8 guests, and boasts amazing views of the outdoors......then, spills into the living area. You're wrapped with warm cedar and pine walls and welcomed with a stone fireplace to enjoy during those chilly nights and a futon sleeper for additional guests. in Northern Michigan. The main floors has a bedroom with a queen size bed, as well as a full size bathroom. All of your linens are included as well as a full size washer and dryer for your convenience.
The upper floor has another full bath, as well as two additional bedrooms; one with a queen size bed and the other one with two sets of twin/full bunk beds. Nice views and a small balcony add to the charm of the upper level of the cottage.
Nice parking area for 3-4 cars. Back deck with a bonfire pit, gas grill and chairs for lounging and outside dining. This home comes with a double kayaks and 2 cruiser bikes to take full advantage of the area!
