Named Pennington Place, after the original owner who was one of the founders of the acclaimed Interlochen Arts Academy, this cottage has been occupied and visited by many well known artists in the music industry. The history itself adds to the charm of this cottage.

Newly remodeled cottage with hardwood floors, new tile, paint, furnishings and decor...this is an exceptionally clean residence. Isn't it refreshing to know that you're sleeping on new linens? This cottage is directly on Duck Lake with 160 feet of private waterfront (with a sandy bottom), as well as a dock for your boat.

Interior:

All main floor living, open and spacious! I'm crazy about the flloor plan, as well as the high beamed ceilings, antique door frames, original hardwood floors in the livingroom, white brick fireplace and book cases, and so much more! The large "all seasons" porch features large white casement windows and white wicker furnishings. You then walk into the cottage with a livingroom to the left and a sitting room to your right...pick a space, and read a good book while gazing out at Duck Lake. Head into the diningroom with a round table and chairs and charming built in corner cabinet...then into the newly remodeled galley kitchen with new tile and appliances. Notice the beautiful antique armoire in the corner that's used as a pantry.

The owner recognized the need for a large bathroom, and did us proud! Brand new, open and spacious...he did well! The master bedroom has a queen size bed in it, as well as a small desk. The second bedroom houses two twin size beds, as well as a private (very unique) half bathroom. This bathroom features a powder room with a pedistal sink and a darling painted chest of drawers; in addition, there's a camode that is seperate and enclosed by it's own door. Furthermore, it has a twin pull out sofa. The third bedroom has a full size bed in it, as well as a private shower. There is also a full size washer and dryer to use, and all of your linens are provided for your convenience.

Exterior:

This cottage sits on a double lot with plenty of room to roam, or play yard games. A large brick firepit sits in a perfect area close to the cottage with amazing views of the lake. A deck was built on the top of the boat house and it overlooks Duck Lake. Walk down to the lake and jump in! The water is warm. The new dock is in...so bring your boat (or rent ours) and take full advantage of being on the water.

A pontoon boat is available to rent, as well as other watercraft. Please contact us for additional information and pricing!

Additional services that may be added would be a personal chef, daily (or every 2 days) housekeeping/turn down service, transportation/limousine, private spa services at the home, yacht rentals, and/or any additional services requested.

The area hosts many activities; including the National Cherry Festival and other local festivals, Michael Moore's Film Festival, arts and craft shows, concerts in the park, casino's, wineries, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes (a must), performances at the widely acclaimed Interlochen Center for the Arts and the downtown Opera House; you're certain to stay busy.

Enjoy fishing charter boats, catamaran sunset cruises, parasailing (for those who are brave), jetski rentals, hot air balloon rides, our local markets, cherry picking (and other fruits depending upon the season), and hiking trails.

Looking to golf? Perfect area for that! Fantastic golf courses surround Traverse City. Fishing? Look no further. Shopping? How about a large mall, outlet mall, and amazing local shops to find that special treasure. The dining is also fabulous, and we have amazing local chefs that prepare meals that you'll want to tell your friends and family about (as you're looking out at the reflection of the water, or dining by sunset).
