Unique home with 1200 feet of direct frontage on Long Lake, located on it's own peninsula that's privately owned!  This home comes with many extras to enhance your vacation such as a game room, lounge, sauna and a private dock.  This home is truly one of a kind as it was custom built over the period of the last 40 years; a home that you'll find endless details that you've never seen before.  One example is the large spiral stairway....as you climb down the stairs you're taken by the beauty in each of the wood carved planks used a individual steps....at the bottom of the handrail sits a trailer hitch as the ball.  Now you turn around and look at the staircase and are amazed that each gorgeous step actually sits into a large tree trunk!  This home has become one of my favorite homes and we're thrilled to be adding it to our inventory for our guests to enjoy.

Make a point of visiting "Picnic Island" which is pictured with this home and sits directly in front of.  Can you guess why its named "Picnic Island"?  You guessed it!  Boat to it and meet up with your family for lunch, dine on the picnic tables, swim around the warm shallow water that surrounds you and look back at the "Tree House" located on your own peninsula.

Interior:

This large home will be easy to get lost in as it branches off in so many directions.  A large kitchen with a huge island and stools will make for a great place to meet for coffee in the morning, as it's nice and open.  Views of Long Lake welcome you as you walk into the dining area and living room.  The immense windows facing the island are in the shape of a half circle, so your views are FANTASTIC!  It's really unique to see the waves actually crash against the beaches on both sides.  Now can you imagine what it sounds like when the window is cracked open?  It is so soothing to hear the sounds of the waves; just breathtaking.  Similar to a tree house with a swing...you'll find a twin size bed hanging instead of a swing.  A popular place for many many years.  There are two bedrooms on the main level.  One bedroom houses a queen size bed and the second bedroom features a set of twin/full size bunk beds.  A bathroom is also located on the main level and all of your linens are included for your convenience.

The lower level of the home; well, now you get to climb down the really great stairway that's built into the tree trunk. Sit at the bar in stools made out of vintage wine barrels and order up that cocktail!  As in the main level, the lower level feature the same expansive windows looking out toward the peninsula with views of both sides of Long Lake.  The lower level has a walk out to a patio. Surrounded by oak and beams in the ceilings...such a great Northern feeling throughout the home!  Off to the left there's a small bedroom that houses a set of full size bunk beds and onto the right side there's another bedroom that features a large king size bed, private slider to the lake and connects to a bathroom (which also opens from another door).  The bathroom actually has a working bidet and a sink that was built with a night light in it; therefore, the entire sink glows in the dark!  Across from the bathroom is a really nice size cedar lined sauna and let me tell you that the cedar smells amazing (even after all of these years!).  Sit back and enjoy some more of your stress free vacation, ahhhh!!!!

The upper level to the house features a large master bedroom with a king size bed and a full size crib (a pack n' play is also available at the home).  The master has a private slider a balcony overlooking the lake, as well as a private bath.  Another bathroom is located just down the hall and that room has character too!  A "Restroom" sign is on the door and when the room was built the door didn't fit!  You couldn't actually close the door, as it wouldn't clear the toilet.  What do you do??  You bet...you cut a small angle out of the door so it clears!  A second bedroom is located upstairs as well that houses a queen size bed as well as a full size futon.  The sleeping arrangements in the home are endless!  

Exterior:

This is a huge property with a nice circular drive and additional parking on the right side of the house and by the boat house. The home sits on Long Lake with it's own peninsula and 1200 feet of private waterfront.  The water is clear and you can see your feet underwater.  Warmer closer to shore surrounding most of the peninsula it's great for kids to swim, and a sandy bottom to boot!  At the tip of the peninsula (identified by the drastic change of color) is about an 80 foot drop off.  The homeowners spent most of their childhood years jumping off into the drop off.  "Picnic Island" is directly in front of the peninsula.  There is a large dock for boats that also has a platform for sun bathing, as well as a few ladders that are perfect for swimming.  Multiple areas are found around the exterior of the grounds to sitting and relaxing, as well as grilling and dining.  A nice fire pit area is located by the water for storytelling along the "Tree House", as you'll be telling stories about your experiences on vacation for years to come! 

 

Additional services that may be added would be housekeeping/turn down service, transportation/limousine, private spa services at the home, and/or any additional services requested. The area hosts many activities; including the National Cherry Festival and other local festivals, Michael Moore's Film Festival, arts and craft shows, concerts in the park, casino's, wineries, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes (a must), performances at the widely acclaimed Interlochen Center for the Arts and the downtown Opera House; you're certain to stay busy. Enjoy fishing charter boats, catamaran sunset cruises, para-sailing (for those who are brave), jet ski rentals, hot air balloon rides, our local markets, cherry picking (and other fruits depending upon the season), and hiking trails. Looking to golf? Perfect area for that! Fantastic golf courses surround Traverse City. Fishing? Look no further. Shopping? How about a large mall, outlet mall, and amazing local shops to find that special treasure. The dining is also fabulous, and we have amazing local chefs that prepare meals that you'll want to tell your friends and family about (as you're looking out at the reflection of the water, or dining by sunset).
